Sarah Baily
Company Profile
Sarah Baily grew up in an artistic environment, always encouraged to be creative. After completing a degree in Graphic Design at UCCA, Sarah moved to London to study Architecture and Design. She specialised in interior styling, merchandising and buying, later heading up the interior design service at the Natuzzi flagship store. Here Sarah received her first real education in, and fell in love with, leather. When the time was right, Sarah launched Sarah Baily Interiors – with her first collection featuring metallic leather cushions in eccentric shapes, alongside renovated vintage furniture – this first collection was stocked in LIBERTY London and Atelier Abigail Ahern, where the leather cushions sold out several times. Creating these cushions in iridescent leathers and unusual shapes (including stars, hearts and bones) left a lot of scraps, which Sarah began turning into small purses and bags to store make-up, change and various other bits and pieces. Friends and family started putting in requests for the simple zipped purses, and Sarah began creating larger versions to be worn as clutch bags, in a range of metallic and brightly coloured leathers. Once Sarah identified this gap in the market she developed her product and Baily Bags emerged quickly into success being stocked in JAEGER and Independent boutiques across London.
